Swarm season!!!

img_0308-2 Went through my nucs today and noticed that one had swarmed. I finished up my inspections and went back in the house. It kept bothering me that I didn’t see the swarm because I had been watching them so closely. Checking the trees nearby every day. midday and evening. I kept seeing bees checking out the house. I though to myself, they were acting  like scout bees. So I took a walk and sure enough this beauty was hangning on a low branch in one of the pine trees. I’ll post a video soon.

  1. Hey Brian, Glad you were able to get them before took off. Nice Swarm.

When they decide to swarm, it only takes about 15 minutes to move out and be gone.
Whenever I’d see a swarm hanging in a fruit tree, I’d look around to try to find the ‘guilty’ hive, but no one ‘fessed up.’😀

I was lucky enough to see the last one I caught right as they were leaving. They took residence in one of my pine trees in the side yard. That’s 3 for the pine trees this year
